So, we have a new unit lead, however he couldn't lead a dog to a bone, the mans an arse, a complete arse, he has no idea whats going on within our unit 'Media', the college has a huge deficit through bad management over the past few years and a new principle has arrived and is ringing in some changes, and Brehany is his new snivelling little turd.
In the Film & TV unit we require new cameras, he tells us we have no money, we need new blinds for the staff room as the little darling (students) keep looking in and making stupid faces, annoying to say the least, but I have just found out that he has given over £10000 of our money to the college to help with the deficit, WTF, it's a 4 million quid deficit so 10 grand makes fuck all difference, as far as I am concerned he is stealing from our students, they pay for the course and expect to have the correct equipment available to work with, 10 grand buys a lot of gear for them kids, so, today I have made a point to bring him down, I will seek legal advice as the my be theft, I am also considering getting the students to go on strike until they get the money back.

God I am so pissed off with him.

So this week has been a good one for me, bad for my bank balance.  I have decided to upgrade my workshop with loads of new tools, New Bandsaw, Table Saw, Sanding Machine, Bobin Sander and Planer Thicknesser, now looking for a good router table, so why all new stuff, well, after so many years of good service most of my tools are now over 20 years old, and last week my table saw gave up the ghost, so I thought if I am going to replace it, I may as well get all the stuff that I wanted for some time.

I am hopeful of getting the studio converted by March and start my new guitar building project, I have ordered some wood and just need to get on with the studio conversion, I am a little excited, which is unusual for me as the last thing to get me excited was a women over 30 years ago, so I can't wait to get started.

I was amazed at the price of power tools, I purchased a very good table saw some 10 years ago that finally packed in a few months back, the new one cast less than the original and is a far better tool, as are most of the new tools I have bought, the ocilating sander I have purcheased for £120 would have cost double if not more 10 years ago.  Anyway, enough waffle for today, back to my students to see if they are in a learning mode?

I really don't understand why people make such a song & dance about New Years Eve and the new year?  Take today, first day of the new year, I look out the window and what do I see, rain, nothing new about that, I look in the mirror, apart from having a bit more hair on my face, nothing new there, so why all the fuss?

When I was a kid new year meant the sales would start and you may grab a bargin, if you were lucky, but these days there are sales on all the time so it means nothing now.  The other thing that makes me laugh is New Year Resolutions, what the fuck is that all about, nobody ever sticks to them so stop it people, your all full of resolution shit.  The other thing that I dont get is why the eastern europeans in my street try to blow it up with explosives, yes I am talking about fireworks, loads of them, they were going off for a good 20 minutes last night, why?  Why wake up the whole street? Give me the money you are thinking of spending on your fireworks and I will throw it on my fire, you burn your money, no noise and everyone is happy.

Time is a construct that we have invented, as it the date, so in reality it means  fuck all.  SO lets not get too excited about the "New Year", it's not new, it's happened before and will happen again, I can't wait to get back to work and do something.

So am I going to wish everyone a happy new year, fuck no.
