About Me

So my name is Den and yes, I am a grumpy old man, but then I think I have a reason to be the way I am.

I'm the wrong side of 60, now single after 2 divorces (I don't believe that I am easy to live with), constantly unwell and miserable.

Who Am I

Born in the 50s in north London I spent most of my school years in cafe's drinking coffee (now I'm up to between 20 & 30 mugs a day) and smoking cheap cigarettes (now a non smoker), I left school with no qualifications and started my working life making tea and coffee in a film company, progressed to a trainee lighting camera man and spent 11 years shooting everything from top of the pops to big blockbusters like Superman 1 & Star Wars.
I also took up photography at a young age (dad was a keen amateur) and became a pro shooting my first model portfolio at 21, It was film in those days, none of this digital malarky.

Since then I have had my own IT infrastructure company, a Photographic studio (still do), owned a garage building custom cars and been a director of 3 separate companies. I now lecture part time due to my health, been teaching for 30 years and I love it.
