I was having a conversation with a work colleague yesterday about the film industry and how hollywood are continually making remakes of great Japanese and Korean horror movies, however they are so bad that they should have left them to our asian friends. We talked about films like, The Ring, The Grudge, Audition and several others when he said that he was looking for a good gore film to show his friends on Halloween evening at midnight, I then remembered I had a film that was rejected from every hour film festival in the world, it was described as grotesque, shocking, revolting and even obscene, all of which are good descriptions and I can't argue against any of them. The film is Slaughtered Vomit Dolls, I got a copy from someone as at the time it was causing great interest by the gore movie fans and they could not see it at cinemas so DVD's were changing hands at ridiculous prices, as much as £5000, so I had to have a copy, like I said I got mine from a friend who was given it by the director of the film as he knew him, at the time the rumours set around this film were incredibly sick, someone who had seen it said it was a Rape, Snuff, Bloodbath movie and that the women in the film were all killed or died during the making of it.
So, I did some investigating, I talked to a couple of people online who allegedly worked on the film, they both said the same thing, yes the main character in the film was actually murdered but it was made to look like an accident on set and no questions were asked, that immediately rang my bullshit bell, there is noway someone dies on a set and an inquiry as to why they died was not put in motion. Did in fact the actress actually die? I very much doubt it, it all hype to sell the film surely? I dug deeper, and the truth came out, there was induced vomiting but swallowing salt water after eating large amounts of pizza, pizza gives a good puke with lots of red in it so it looks like blood, the stabbing scene scene and the guy removing eyes with a knife were fake, the eye removal however I told was a Jane Doe Cadaver, taken from a morgue, by one of the crew who had medical connections, but what about the rape scenes, the actress was told that there would be blood scenes and a rape scene, what she was not told was that she would actually be raped during that scene, the fear in the actresses face is real, again I was told that they had locked the actresses up in a house, were not aloud to leave during the making of the film and were raped repeatedly, all the time being film by a couple of guys with cameras?
Again my Bullshit bells is ringing very loudly, surely all the above can't be true? Can it? It has to be a sales pitch, so, I sat down and watched it, 15 minutes into the film I was bored stupid, nothing new that I had not seen before, the whole film was crap, boring, narrative free bollocks, the rape scene was obviously faked, but well executed with some half decent shots, but not a turn on, more of a turn off, as was the gore, the removal of eyes, however the puking, did look real, but again nothing that you can't fake on set and with clever editing, so whats all the fuss about?
Yeah, it's gorey, bloody, pornographic and at times quite revolting, but most of the time it's just a load of shit, I can imaging young kids getting very disturbed by this film, even leaving them with nightmares for a long time, but it's just basically a shit film shot badly, hyped up by the rumours of real deaths and rape scene.
Another colleague has just watched the first ten minutes and stopped it, why, because he said it was fucking with his head and he found it really disturbing and it can't get the scenes out of his head? He's 20, well educated and I told him it was all fake, but he still finds it a real head fuck, his words, not mine.
So if you have a friend that you want to mentally torture, or pervert for the rest of their life, get yourself a copy, and make them watch it, my colleague has now decided to watch the film before he screens it with his friends on Halloween night at the witching hour. Good luck mate, just make sure you have a couple of buckets handy for your audience reaction.
